
Jana – Junior
Hi! I am a Junior dual degree student majoring in Mathematics and Elementary Education. I was born in Chile, South America but currently reside in New Britain, CT. My family and I love to travel and we’ve lived in over 16 cities around the globe. Education and service are my passions and I currently serve as the Volunteer Coordinator for UConn’s Jumpstart Language & Literacy program. I am also a Math and Chemistry tutor at the Quantitative Center and a founding sister of Gamma Phi Beta sorority.
I am from New Hampshire and am majoring in Biomedical Engineering. I am also Pre-Med and someday I hope to be a surgeon! Around campus, I am very involved with the UConn Running Club (RunUC), and was CFO this past year. We travel all over the country for Cross Country and Track meets, and will be going to North Carlolina for Nationals this coming year! Other organizations I am involved with are Mansfield Middle School tutoring and Biomedical Engineering Society, and in the past I have been involved with the Husky Ambassador and Honors Mentoring (PATH) programs. Before this year I was an undergraduate research student in a polymer chemistry lab, but am excited to be joining a Biomedical Engineering research lab in the Fall!

Alexandra ‘Lexxi’ Martini – Sophomore
Hi All! I am a sophomore student from Albany New York and a business major with a concentration in marketing. Besides tour guiding I like to stay active on campus by playing intramural sports. Last year my team went to the final soccer championship game. We’re hoping to do it again this year. I also am a part of Greek life. I stay active with my chapter Kappa Alpha Theta which has opened me up to a lot of different leadership positions. To keep up with the business school I am involved in the club, Women in Business, which is helping to further the status of women in the business world. Being involved on campus has opened me up to so many opportunities. Can’t wait to share them with you in my blog!
I am a senior majoring in Political Science and double minoring in Criminology and Sociology with plans to attend Law School. I am from Fairfield County, Connecticut. Along with being a tour guide, I also work in Residential Life and participate in Undergraduate Student Government. I am also involved in the UCONN chapter of National Society of Leadership and Success which helps develop leadership skills and personal growth. In my free time I love to go to UConn basketball and football games with my friends!
I am an Accounting major from Miller Place, NY, which is right on Long Island so home is only a ferry ride away. I am a crazy UConn sports fan, so if you are at a football or basketball game you will probably find me there, and if a game is out of town you know I will be glued to the TV until it is over. I am also involved in the National Society of Leadership and Success, learning leadership skills that I can translate into a successful Accounting career.

Anthony – Junior
I’m a junior Economics major and Business minor from Merrick, NY. I plan to pursue an MBA after I graduate from UConn. I am a Brother of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and for the upcoming fall semester I will be serving as one of our Rush Chairmen. Like most students, I consider myself a HUGE Huskies sports fan and get tickets to as many games as I can each year. When there are no games to attend, you can find me playing intramural flag football in the fall, as well as soccer in the spring!
My hometown is Cranston, Rhode Island. I am majoring in Exercise Science in the Kinesiology Department, with hopes of using my undergraduate degree to further my studies in medical school to become an orthopedic surgeon. Aside from living the life as a tour guide on campus, I am a brother of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity where I have served as recruitment, social, and scholarship chairs. I am also involved in various philanthropic events on campus including HuskyTHON and HuskySport. I am also involved in several intramural sports on campus, including softball, basketball, and flag football.

Carmen ‘Bea’ Sophomore
Buenos dias! I’m a sophomore Communications and Journalism major from Dorado, Puerto Rico. I’m currently the tennis beat writer for the Daily Campus, our student run newspaper as well as Assistant Marketing Director for UCTV, the student run television station. Apart from being involved in activities within my majors, I’m a member of UConn Endurance, a non-competitive running club, we run to raise money for non-profit organizations.
I’m a racially ambiguous guy from Minnesota. Few things bring me more content than eating cheese and watching movies with good friends. I am a brother of Beta Theta Pi. If all goes according to plan, I’ll be graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2014. Brain anatomy is sweet.

Chris – Sophomore
Hello, my name Chris from Darien, CT. I am a sophomore majoring in Economics and with a minor in Spanish. I am a brother of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and serve on the community service committee. Therefore my job is to make sure all brothers perform their required community hours each semester. I am also a member for the Big Brothers- Big Sisters tutoring program serving Windham Public Schools. When not studying, working or volunteering, I take part in several intramurals sports on campus like softball, basketball and soccer.

Erica – Senior
Hi! I am from Voorhees, NJ majoring in Communications, with a minor in Women Studies. In addition to being apart of the LVC Team, I am involved in Greek Life and the Panhellenic Community. I am a sister of Delta Gamma sorority and also serve on the UNITE Executive Board as Vice President of Finances. I also volunteer with the Windham Heights Tutoring Program where I help children with their studies. This past summer, I studied abroad with the Semester at Sea program. Most importantly, I love a good sandwich.

Hina – Senior
Hi everyone! I am pursuing a dual degree in Finance and Political Science, and I am from Norwich, CT. In addition to giving tours, I am a writer and designer for the school newspaper, the Daily Campus, and I am involved in the Asian American Cultural Center. I am also a member of the Muslim Students Association and volunteer with a community service program called Food Recovery. I have been on two Alternative Spring Break trips so far – one to Washington D.C. and the other to New Orleans – and I am hoping on attending another trip this year with UConn’s Community Outreach office. After I graduate, I plan on getting my MIA (Masters in International Affairs) and an MBA to further pursue my interests in international issues.

Hoai ‘Alex’ – Sophomore
Hi, this is Alex and I am a sophomore Finance major and I live in Business Connection Learning Community (BCLC). I am the VP of Communications of Multicultural Business Society and co-chair of International Business Committee. Besides those business related organization, I am involved with Community Outreach and the Vietnamese Student Organization.
I am political science major from Needham, MA. I am a new member to the LVC staff and this will be my first year working as a tour leader. On campus I am heavily involved in Hillel and Greek Life as a brother of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity and a huge Huskies fan. After graduating I hope to continue my studies at law school.

Jared – Sophomore
Hi, I’m a sophomore meterology major from Cherry Hill, NJ. While this is my first year at the Lodewick Visitors Center, I’m active around campus as well. I’m involved with Hillel and in Greek like in Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI). I’m also a part of UCTV and as a huge sports fan I get to experience the thrill of Huskymania sometimes from right on the court.

Jason – Sophomore
Hi, I am from Bridgewater, NJ with a major in Marketing. I play a lot of intramural sports, everything from soccer to flag football. I am looking to get more involved on campus during my next three years on campus. One club I plan on joining is the Marketing society so that I can learn more about my major in actual real world experiences. I am a huge UConn Huskies fan, so when I am not studying, working at the visitors center or playing a sport, I can be found cheering on the Huskies!

Hi everyone! My names Jordan. I’m an easy going fly kinda guy. Most of my friends think I’m goofy because I’m always bring a smile to their faces. So yeah I guess I’m kinda goofy. But other than that I’m always looking for ways to stay active and in shape. I like helping people to so if you ever need anything just let me know!

Keerthi – Junior
Hi Everyone, Keerthi here! I hail from Westford, Massachusetts. I am a communication disorders major, with a minor in psychology. I plan to go to graduate school for Speech Language Pathology. In addition to giving tours, I am an Resident Assistant in Busby Suites with 60 residents on my floor. I am also involved in SUBOG Concert Committee where I assist with plans for our fall, spring, and winter concerts. This year I worked at the Ludacris and B.O.B concerts, and the entire concert committee met B.O.B after the concert! I am also in the Indian Students Association so I have participated in some dances in our cultural shows on campus.

LaChana Flanders – Sophomore
I’m a sophomore Biology major originally from St. Martin. In the future, I’m hope to attend medical school and open up my own practice as a pediatric cardiologist. On campus, I’m an undergraduate student research assistant in the School of Engineering, as well as an active member of the American Red Cross association and UConn buildOn. I’m currently living in West Campus with my former-random-roommate-turned-best friend. I’m excited for what this school year will bring!

Lauren – Junior
Hi! I’m excited for my second year at UConn (I transferred here after my freshman year). I call South Windsor, CT my hometown. As a junior, I’m majoring in Communications and am involved in UCTV Advertising, Greek Life, as well as Community Outreach. Participating in an Alternative Spring Break last March to New Orleans was one of the most rewarding experiences of my college career. I’m currently living on campus Hilltop Apartments and enjoying cooking for myself! I’m excited for a great year ahead.

Hello all! I am a junior from Teaneck, NJ studying journalism and double majoring in Communications. I’m an aspiring reporter and currently work for the CT Post as a freelancer and the Daily Campus, UConn’s student run newspaper. Aside from writing, I am involved in one of UConn’s great leadership organizations, H.O.L.D.U.P!. Hi! I am a Journalism major and lifelong Husky fan from Norwalk, CT. When I am not giving tours to all of our lovely visitors I am fulfilling my duties as Associate Managing Editor for UConn’s student-run newspaper The Daily Campus (make sure to check out my sports column every Tuesday!). I am also a proud brother of the Gamma Omega chapter of the Sigma Chi fraternity on campus. Before I graduate I hope to take advantage of UConn’s Study Abroad program and finish the Hartford Marathon. Go Huskies!

I am a Political Science major and a native Nutmegger from the small town of Roxbury, CT. Outside of being a campus tour guide and political enthusiast, I am the Vice President of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity here on campus, and a member of the UCTV News Crew. In the fall semester of 2011, I spent the semester abroad through the UConn in London Program and I can be an eye roll inducing anglophile.

Natalia – Sophomore
Hi, I am a Business Marketing major from Yonkers, NY. When I’m not giving tours on campus, you can always find me hanging out with my sisters. I am vice president and treasurer of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. and this past summer I had the opportunity to go to my sorority’s convention in Puerto Rico. I was also an Orientation leader this summer and had the most amazing experience working with new students and orienting them to the campus.
I am a Senior majoring in Physiology and Neurobiology and minoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology at UConn. I am also part of the Honors Program. A few things that I like to do on campus include: Community Outreach which involves going to elementary schools in Willimantic and teaching students from K-4 math, science and a variety of other subjects after school. I am involved in research as a part of my major, investigating pathologies with the retina.
Hello everyone, I am an political science major, originally from Ponce, Puerto Rico. During my first year at UConn, I was involved in the METAS Program for the Puerto Rican Latin American Culture Center and I lived in a Learning Community. This summer I went on a study abroad trip to Paris with my Learning Community, where I learned about the Parisian culture and about their business practices.
Hello everyone! I am an Honors Student double majoring in Psychology and Journalism. In my free time, I still pursue Journalism, as a contributing staff writer for The Daily Campus, the official student campus newspaper. I also am involved in Greek Life, in the sorority Pi Beta Phi. I have participated in many events such as HuskThon, our 18-hour dance marathon which raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Connecticut Children’s Miracle Network. This year I am a mentor where I will be facilitating a class for freshman in our honors program. Last year I participated as a mentee in the Honors PATH (Peer Allies Through Honors) program. I love the UConn community and am proud to say I am a Husky!!

Hello, I am Economics major from Waterford, CT. I have lived in Connecticut for the past 10 years, and before that I lived all the way down in Virginia Beach, VA. A couple of organizations I’ve been involved with during my time at UConn are the Alpha Omega Christian Club, as well as UConn Krav Maga. I nearing the end of my college career and am excited to see how my time spent at UConn will direct my future!

In addition to tour guiding, I spend my days playing piccolo in the UConn Marching Band, being a sister of Tau Beta Sigma sorority, take part in PATH mentoring, and planning social events for the Honors community at Honors Council. I also love being a part of the Cru community!

Sarah – Sophomore
Hey all! I am a Healthcare Management major in the School of Business. My hometown is Wallingford, CT, so I am under an hour away from home. My main activity in the fall is playing in the University of Connecticut Marching Band, which is made up of over 300 students. I am one of the 18 tuba players. We play at all the home football games and other campus events like the Homecoming Parade. I live in the Business Connections Learning Community and am involved with a lot of the events and activities that they hold. Healthcare Management Society and Learning Community Husky Ambassadors are two other groups that I participate in, here on campus.

Greetings everyone, I am a sophomore double majoring in English and Economics. I have moved over fourteen times and I’m currently (when not living at UConn) located in Centerbrook, Connecticut. I’m involved with the UConn Krav Maga Club, I am president of the UConn Freethinkers Club, I am on my way to becoming a Bodywise instructor, and I am heavily involved with my learning community, Global House! I love UConn and I try to make the most of my stay here participating in cultural center events, Lipsync, rallies, shows, and other activities. I like to write, play the guitar, and work out to help center myself whenever I have free time.

Aside from working as a tour guide on campus, I also work for UConn’s School of Nursing as an advertising designer, and am a proud brother of Kappa Sigma, the University’s largest fraternity. I am also very passionate about our school’s beloved sport programs, and in the past year alone have traveled across the country to see our Huskies play in the BCS Fiesta Bowl, the Big East Basketball Championship, and the NCAA Baseball Super Regionals. Hey everyone! I am a Junior from Wakefield, RI. I am a Combined Program in Medicine Student with a Physiology and Neurobiology major. In addition to holding the best job on campus as a tour guide at the Lodewick Visitor’s Center, I conduct research with a professor in the PNB department, I am the treasurer of the UConn Sailing Team, a co-chair of the Survivorship Committee for Relay for Life, a mentor for Peer Allies through Honors, a community service committee member of Honors Council, and a member of the Pre-Medical Society. I spent this summer studying abroad in Salamnaca, Spain, volunteering at the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, and relaxing at the beach. I love UConn and I am excited to be here for the rest of my undergraduate career and my four years of med school!
