Kevin W.’s Senior Thank You

Hey UConn! Kevin here for one last time..

So May 6th is the big day! I will be graduating, and starting a new chapter in my life. To be honest, I am scared to death, but it is exciting to finally enter the “real world” and see what it has to offer. There are so many people in my life that have helped me get to where I am today, and I am truly blessed.

First and foremost I want to thank my family. My parents have worked hard all of their life so they can send my brother and me to college. They supported every decision I made, and I am so lucky to have them in my life. I guess one can call me a “mamma’s boy”. I can talk to my mom about anything.  I have the utmost respect for her, especially since she had to put up with me and my brother for all these years. My dad has always supported me and has been very involved in my life. He has coached every sports team I have been on, and whether it be fixing my car or giving me career advice, he is always there. My brother, Jeff, is one of my best friends. He also graduated from UConn so he has given me great advice with throughout college.

I also want to thank my brothers of Zeta Beta Tau. Joining a fraternity was one of the best decisions of my life. It is awesome to know that I have 90+ brothers who have my back no matter what. I consider my fraternity brothers to be my family. ZBT has really made my college experience awesome. I currently live with three of guys in my fraternity that I met freshman year, and they are some of my closest friends.

Lastly, I want to thank all my friends that I have made throughout college. The one thing I will miss most about college is being around my friends 24/7. My hometown is 45 minutes away and I never wanted to go home because I didn’t want to leave my friends. Those four month summers were tortuous away from school because all of my friends have really made UConn feel like a second home. I also want to thank my bosses and colleagues at the LVC. Meg, Pam, and Renea have been a very strong support system for me at school. All of the colleagues at the LVC have become my great friends. Shout out to the seniors! I love you all. We are a great class and I know all of us will be very successful in whatever we do.

I am so lucky to have met so many amazing people at UConn. My four years flew by, but I made the best of my time here and I wouldn’t change a thing. UConn will always be my home.

Thanks UConn, its been real.
