Hey Anthony Here!
Today I am here to talk about one of our newer LVC Colleagues, Christine. Christine is a Pre-Pharmacy major from Watervliet, NY. She grew up with two siblings, a brother and a sister, and attended a small high school in her town. Christine’s school had only 82 students, but she did graduate as Class Salutatorian. When it was time for her to decided which college to attend, one stuck out to her – UConn.
Christine’s cousin attended UConn and always said great things about the University. Christine also grew up watching basketball stars such as Emeka Okafor, Ben Gordon, Josh Boone, and Diana Taursi One of her favorite memories is watching both the men’s and women’s basketball teams win the national championship in 2004. So when she was looking for a school that had

pride and spirit in everything it did she knew exactly where she belonged .
When Christine came to UConn she only knew one other person who ever attended the University, so she was a little nervous about making new friends. Once here Christine realized as a freshman everyone is in the same position, every single person is looking to make friends, so it was not has hard as she first imagined. All she had to do was go up to people and say hi and strike up a conversation. Just by starting those conversations she made great friends right in her dorm. They were all so close that they
decided to live together again this year in the same building. She also met one of her best friends, Sara, right on her floor. They were so close that they decided to live together this year. Christine loves living with someone she is so close with because if she ever does have a problem it is great to have someone she can go to and talk.
Christine chose to be a Pharmacy major because she has wanted to be a Pharmacist since she was in the fourth grade. She has always been interested in science, working with others, and helping those in need. Her favorite professor so far has been Dr. Ashis Basu for her Organic Chemistry class. Her favorite class is Microbiology because she loves being in the lab and working with her Teaching Assistant who really makes the class enjoyable.
