Renea Harrington: Making the LVC Run Smoothly on a Daily Basis

Hello, Jacob here,

As our blog has progressed over the spring semester there have been many posts about Colleagues who work at the Lodewick Visitor Center (LVC). Usually these posts focused around the students work either on desk and providing tours to our visitors. However, I had the pleasure of being able to write about one of our colleagues who is not a student. Renea Harrington has worked at the Lodewick Visitor Center since it opened in 2000. Before working at the LVC, Renea enjoyed worked in the UConn optics lab. She decided to take her passion of working with students and working with the public and combine them. What a great choice, right? Working at the LVC has given Renea the chance to work with a group of motivated students and with the visitors who come through our doors on a daily basis.

Outside of the LVC, Renea loves to go to Florida and spend time on the beach. When I asked Renea what she liked most – she told me she loved Disney World. It just highlights even more that Renea is fun and a lot like Disney World. She also enjoys spending time with her family. Renea’s favorite part about UConn are the visitors that come through the LVC. Renea would like all the LVCers to keep up the good work which ensure that the “LVC is the  friendliest place at UConn’.

Some quick fun facts about Renea:

Favorite Food: Pasta

Favorite TV Show: Murder She Wrote

Renea Loves Cats

I am political science Major here at the University of Connecticut. I am a new member to the LVC staff and this will be my first year working with the visitor center. On campus I am heavily involved in Hillel and Greek Life as I am a brother of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity here at UCONN. After graduating from UCONN I hope to continue my studies at law school.
